My Excellent Utah Adventure – Part 1

127-Hours-Wallpapers-1.jpg

I know that it’s been 4 months since I last posted anything. Our travelling in 2013 has been off to a slow start with us only logging a single trip to Hawaii in May but there were good reasons why we didn’t do any travelling in over 9 months. Nonetheless I think that we’re going to make up for it in the last half of this year.

You would be justified in asking why there’s travel plans to go to Utah? Definitely not our usual travel destination and in fact this trip is going to be solo for me as Barb will not be joining me. If I look back it’s actually been 7 years since I last travelled anywhere by myself (for non-business travel). Yes, I’m going to be spending the next 10 days in Utah by myself and the trip is primarily going to be focused on photography as my itinerary includes 4 national parks in Utah plus a whole lot more. Details will be released in the days to come.

You may be asking what’s up with the movie poster above for 127 Hours. It’s kind of an inside joke as many of the people who I’ve told that I was going to be going to on a solo trip to Utah often mention this movie to me. The similarities are the movie’s about a single guy who’s travelling in a national park in Utah and it happens to be one of the very same parks that I’m going to.

Given the fact that I’ll be alone on this trip and often off the beaten track away from civilization I think that this will be a chance for me to get away from it all on not think about technology as I’m usually doing on a daily basis. With my iPhone, MacBook Pro, Nikon camera and additional lens packed with me on the trip I’ll be sure to be able to document how my getting away from it all works out.

Stay tuned.

Awesome pics Baden.  We are about a month behind you.  Hopefully the weather will hold and we will finally get to Bryce Canyon.  We've been to Zion and the Grand one!

Just came back from my first day at Bryce Canyon. It's about 25 degrees cooler (farenheit) here than near Zion so my hike this morning was much more pleasant. But it's been sunny since arriving in Utah on Friday so overall couldn't ask for better weather.
